According to the homeowners, it all began with the swing of a sledge-hammer and the question, “I wonder how the foyer would look without this small bathroom?” Thus started the total makeover of a stately home on South Wiggins Avenue that was sorely in need of some major TLC. On a street known for uniquely beautiful residences, the 3,000-square-foot home of Nick and Danielle Giacomini stands as a proud testimony to what imagination, fine building materials, and hard work can accomplish. The couple, their four children, 3-year-old miniature Pinscher, Jimi, and new Weimaraner puppy Rocco, recently lived down the street in another impressive, home. For a while, they had been talking about building their dream home, and when a lot they had been eyeing on the corner of Wiggins and Ash went on the market, they promptly bought it and kicked their master plan up a notch. Stage one – put their house on the market. It sold quickly, and they were faced with the dilemma of where to go. |
