On Thursday, Oct. 5 from 9-11:30 a.m., the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation is presenting a free seminar on estate planning, “If there’s a will … it’s your way!” The presentation will be held in the Trutter Center at LLCC-Springfield, 5250 Shepherd Road.

The event is for people of all ages seeking guidance on how to get estate planning started or adjusted to meet their current needs. The seminar features three local estate planning specialists presenting information on three general areas of estate matters.

Hugh Drake, partner with Brown, Hay & Stephens, will be discussing the passing of property to heirs, how to avoid probate and will and revocable living trusts.

Jennifer Stice, vice president, senior trust officer and certified trust and financial advisor at Town and Country Bank of Springfield, will share insights on making charitable bequests and the tax and financial advantages they have.

Ellen Bruce, partner with Sgro, Hanrahan, Durr, Rabin & Bruce, will address durable powers of attorney for finance, healthcare and guardianship.

Reservations for the event are requested but not required. For more information, call 217-786-2785, email LLCCFoundation@llcc.edu or visit www.LLCCFoundation.org.
