Frighteningly sweet Halloween pinups raise funds and awareness for
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ® $1 at a time

Dannenberger Family Vineyards in New Berlin this Sunday October 15, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. featuring Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters band that benefits the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  We would love if there is something that you could do to help give some exposure to not only Dannenberger Family Vineyards, Robert Chick Fritz and Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters but for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well.

This fall, many families will gear up for Halloween with colorful costumes so St. Jude patients can forget about radiation, chemo and surgeries and just be kids. Every day, families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ® face real-life monsters –childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

To continue the fight against childhood cancer, companies that participate are giving their customers a chance to help kids battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Through the sale of $1 or more pinups in locations across the country, patrons of these locations help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Every Halloween, the halls at St. Jude transform into a giant trick-or- treating extravaganza. Patients and siblings of all ages look forward to dressing up and admiring themed stations staffed by their favorite doctors, nurses and other employee friends. The fundraising efforts of partners like Robert Chick Fritz allow St. Jude patients to celebrate special moments like these.

During the month of October, patrons at participating retail locations can make a $1 or more donation and receive a personalized Halloween-themed pinup to be displayed in the store. The donations help St. Jude patients like Mabry.

Mabry often wore her favorite princess costumes to St. Jude when she came for appointments, so it’s no surprise that she loves Halloween. “She really enjoyed trick-or- treating at the hospital,” said Mabry’s mom, Jenny. “She loved getting candy and seeing all of the hospital staff dressed up, especially if they were dressed as princesses.” Mabry recently finished treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and celebrated with a No More Chemo party. She now visits St. Jude for regular checkups and will start kindergarten this fall. “Thanks to St. Jude, we’re ready to watch her grow up and be a strong beautiful woman,” Jenny said.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

Partners like Robert Chick Fritz have partnered with St. Jude for 25 years, helping raise $90 million to fund research and treatment-related costs.

About Robert “Chick” Fritz, Inc.

Robert “Chick” Fritz, the largest beer distributor in Southern Illinois, was founded on July 1, 1947, in Mascoutah, Illinois. Chick envisioned a different kind of distributorship – a company that would focus on the needs of the customer offering friendly, reliable service. Unlike larger distributors of the day, his company would not apply pressure or arrogant demands on its customers. To provide a daily reminder of this goal to his staff, he adopted the tagline “Your Friendly Distributor.” For
