Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois is celebrating one hundred years of providing services to those in need. There May 3rd fundraiser was critically important to their mission. Held at the KC Hall on Meadowbrook, it provided a big screen TV to watch the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby on what turned out to be a very muddy track and an unexpected winner, Sovereignty.
It is the mission of Catholic Charities to assist all people regardless of their faith or religious affiliation. Since the 1920s, Springfield Catholic Charities has aided tens of thousands of people through our many programs including St. John’s Breadline, Holy Family Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry, Legal Services, Intact Family Services, and our Crisis Assistance and Advocacy Office.
