The 2019 NBA Finals will, for the fifth consecutive year, have a Springfield (Illinois) connection, when the Toronto Raptors face the Golden State Warriors in the best-of-seven series. Former Lanphier High School basketball standout Andre Iguodala, who was named NBA Finals MVP in 2015, is seeking his fourth NBA Championship ring with the Warriors.
 
Golden State swept LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in The Finals last year and Andre Iguodala played a key role for the Warriors. Paul Wappel, who submits feature articles for Springfield Scene Magazine, wanted to find out what Andre’s teammates, head coach, and some other well-known and well-respected members of the national media including (Charles Barkley and Stephen A. Smith) thought about the 35-year-old, who continues to play basketball at an extremely high-level.
