genHkids is having an event to kick off their community gardens! Coming Together for Community Gardens will take place on March 24th at the Inn at 835 from 9am-12pm! This will be a kickoff to our Community Garden lessons that take place at the genHkids Community Gardens (3rd & Canedy, Living Waters, and Johnson Park). These lessons will teach participants how to not only maintain a garden, but the impact community gardens can have in their neighborhoods and how to get involved!
RSVP for the event now by visiting our website at: http://genhkids.org/coming-together-for-community-gardens/ .
genHkids is a local 501(c)(3) relying primarily on generous business and individual donors to support its program which encourage children and their families to Eat Real and Move More.  The organization was founded in 2008, with a mission to “create a generation of healthy kids through education, empowerment, improved nourishment and increased physical activity.”  We have implemented programs in schools and community centers throughout Sangamon County, and requests for support and guidance are received regularly.
