Come one, come all to the Cutest Show on Earth- Animal Protective League’s (APL) Kitten Circus is one of the best times of  the year to adopt a kitten with 100 adorable kittens up for adoption!  Though there is never a bad time to adopt, this is typically the time of year that APL has the highest number of kittens looking for their forever homes.  That means this is the public’s opportunity to “adopt a little clown” of their own for just $25, or half the normal adoption fee.  Plus, with APL’s Better Together program, you can adopt a cagemate or littermate for free.  All kittens have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micropchipped at the time of their adoption.

As part of the circus celebration, on Saturday, August 27th, APL will host a Kitten Circus Open House at the shelter located at 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield featuring free popcorn, cotton candy and other refreshments. Additionally, Brain Freeze Ice Deli will have concessions for purchase.

This special adoption rate applies to all kittens one year or younger and is available now through Sunday, August 27th at both the shelter and at all of APL adoption events this weekend.  On Saturday, August 26th, APL will have kittens available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at PetSmart, 3183 S Veterans Pkwy, Springfield.  On Sunday, August 27th, kittens will be available from noon until 4 p.m. at PetSmart once again.  The shelter is also open daily from noon to 5 p.m. for pet adoptions.

People typically think of “kitten season” only in the spring.  However the reality is a large number of kittens will be born late summer and early fall as well.  It is imperative that APL finds homes for as many of their 100 available kittens as possible to make room for the new round kittens who will be needing shelter.

APL is a non-profit organization committed to caring for sick, injured, abused and abandoned dogs and cats and finding the best possible permanent homes for them.  In addition to regular pet adoptions, the organization coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs and operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
