Abraham Lincoln loved Shakespeare. He carried a copy of the plays wherever he went. In her book “Team of Rivals,” Doris Kearns Goodwin remarked, “The political genius of Abraham Lincoln rarely spoke of his inner feelings and often expressed emotions through the poetry he admired.” Kevin Purcell has crafted a one-man show featuring Fritz Klein, professional actor. The play is a compilation of Lincoln’s speeches, letters and historical research about him synthesized with elements of the Shakespeare plays he loved.
