Lincoln Land Community College’s second-year radiography students won three individual awards and a team award at the 84th Annual Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists Conference held April 10-12 in Peoria.

“The conference provides a great deal of education, networking and friendly competition for the students,” says Janelle Murphy, LLCC program director, radiography. “As a requirement of attending the conference, each student submits an electronic poster and/or research paper on a topic of choice.”

Allysa Cebuhar of Jacksonville won first place for her poster, “Eventration of the Diaphragm,” Hannah Crocker of Springfield placed second place for her poster, “The Role of Imaging Sciences in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate” and Holly Richardson of New Berlin received third place for her poster, “Legg-Calvé-Perthes.”

LLCC’s scholar bowl team of Cebuhar, Crocker, Halie Daniel of Springfield and Rachel McCall of Edinburg placed fourth out of 12 teams.

Other students who represented LLCC at the conference were Brianna Henderson and Julius Sorrells of Springfield.

LLCC’s two-year, associate degree radiography program prepares students for an occupation in the professional field of medical radiography (X-ray technology). Classes begin in June each year, with 100 percent job placement for graduates. To learn more, attend a program information session. The next session is Monday, April 29, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at LLCC-Springfield, Logan Hall, Room 1116. More information is available atwww.llcc.edu/radiography
