The Springfield Youth Performance Group Foundation (SYPG), an organization spotlighting young talent from the Springfield area, is excited to announce auditions for The Tales of Courage & Kindness on April 24 at the Grant Conservatory of Music & Dance, 501 West Elliott Avenue, Springfield.

This performance will feature an empowering collection of stories that will highlight acts of courage and kindness. These beloved tales will be told through small group pieces, trios, and solos set to inspiring music. Choreography will be set through a condensed schedule and will be performed on June 11 at SHG Auditorium and June 26 at Duncan Park. The artistic team’s focus is on the development of each dancer. 

Registration for dance auditions will be held from 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. for ages 5 – 10 with auditions conducted from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Registration for dance auditions will be held from 4:45 – 5:15 p.m. for ages 11 – 17 with auditions conducted from 5:15 – 6:00 p.m.

There will be a brief informational session for families at 6:00 pm following the completion of auditions
to present upcoming opportunities with SYPG.

Rehearsals will be on a condensed schedule, held on Friday and Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:30pm
beginning May 1.

Performers should be dressed appropriately for auditions. For girls, please wear a leotard, tights and ballet
shoes with hair in a bun (if possible). For boys, please wear a t-shirt, athletic pants/shorts and ballet or
jazz shoes.

Springfield Youth Performance Group Foundation (SYPG) was founded in the summer of 2005 as a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the performing arts. SYPG’s mission is to encourage and cultivate the artistically talented youth in our community by giving them the opportunity to perform thereby enhancing community awareness and appreciation of the performing arts. SYPG works toward this purpose by targeting excellence in stage performances, arts
education, and youth-centered programming that is facilitated by professional artists.
