SPRINGFIELD – The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold several pet adoptions during May with cats and dogs available at various locations. All animals presented by APL for have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received all vaccinations by the time of their adoption.
Adoptions will be held:
· Saturday, May 6 – Cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart, 3183 South Veterans Parkway, Springfield, as part of PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend.
· Sunday, May 7 – Cats and dogs will be available for adoption in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the First Sunday Midwest Bazaar at the Menard County Fairgrounds, 18450 Fairgrounds St., Petersburg; cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart as part of PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend.
· Saturday, May 13 – Cats and dogs will be available for adoption in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Farm Home Supply, 3030 Wabash Ave., Springfield; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Sunday May 14 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Saturday, May 20 – Cats and dogs will be available for adoption in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Villas of South Park, 10000 South Main St., Chatham; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart
· Sunday, May 21 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart
· Saturday, May 27 – Cats and dogs will be available for adoption in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Smokey Jennings, 3040 Kelly Lane, Springfield; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart
· Sunday, May 28 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption daily from noon until 5 p.m. at the shelter located at 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield.
APL, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, runs an animal shelter which is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. APL also coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs. APL also operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
