PRESS RELEASE
The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold several pet adoptions during September with cats and dogs available at various locations. All animals presented by APL for have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received all vaccinations by the time of their adoption.
Adoptions will be held:
Saturday, September 2 – Cats and dogs will be available in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Family Video, 210 N. Main St., Chatham; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart at 3183 South Veterans Parkway, Springfield.
Sunday, September 3 – Cats and dogs will be available in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the First Sunday Midwest Bazaar located on the Menard County Fairgrounds, 18450 Fairgrounds Street, Petersburg; cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Saturday, September 9 – Cats and dogs will be available in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from noon until 2 p.m. at Carpet Weavers, 4251 Conestoga Dr., Springfield; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at PetSmart.
Sunday September 10 – Cats and dogs will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Petco, 2721 S Veterans Pkwy, Springfield
Saturday, September 16 – Cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart as part of PetSmart Charities’ National Adoption Weekend; cats and dogs will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Kidz Expo at the BOS Center, 1 Convention Center Plaza, Springfield.
Sunday, September 17 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m.and dogs available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart as part of PetSmart Charities’ National Adoption Weekend.
Saturday, September 23 – Cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Sunday, September 24 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m.and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Saturday, September 30 – Cats and dogs will be available in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from noon until 3 p.m. at the Fall Festival at Greenview Garden Center, 3000 W Jefferson St, Springfield; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Sunday, October 1 – Cats and dogs will be available in our Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the First Sunday Midwest Bazaar located on the Menard County Fairgrounds, 18450 Fairgrounds Street, PetersburgCats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption daily from noon until 5 p.m. at the shelter located at 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield. Please note, the shelter will be closed on Monday, September 4 in recognition of the labor Day holiday.
APL, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, runs an animal shelter which is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. APL also coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs. APL also operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
